Key Highlights from Recent Meetings between VIS and Vietnam-UK Friendship Association

Representatives from the Vietnamese Intellectual Society (VIS) recently engaged in pivotal discussions, aiming to foster deeper ties and explore new opportunities for collaboration between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phúc, the permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-UK Friendship Association (VUFA), detailed the association’s progress since its inception. He emphasized its expanding role in both domestic and overseas relations, highlighting its connections with UK Networks. Mr. Phúc expressed a keen interest in partnering with Vietnamese associations, student groups, intellectuals, and business communities in the UK to strengthen internal capabilities and promote sustainable development.

He also spoke about Vietnam’s diplomatic openness, particularly with major countries like the United States and the UK, which has led to significant achievements. Mr. Phúc reflected on the developments in Vietnam, noting remarkable innovations and prosperity that mark a departure from the past.

Professor Nguyễn Xuân Huấn, Chairman of VIS, introduced the association’s activities in both the UK and Vietnam. The association, comprising 140 members, including 13 professors and 40 associate professors, focuses on delivering lectures and providing consultancy for various projects. Their expertise significantly contributes to academic and professional fields.

Ms. Yến Trần, an Associate Professor and a member of the VIS, discussed issues related to innovation, the commercialization of technology research, and the desire for stronger connections between Vietnam and the UK. This includes collaboration with governments, universities, and businesses to offer technological solutions for domestic companies. She emphasized the importance of accessing advanced technology applications and developing managerial skills in innovation through PhD programs and research initiatives.

These meetings signify a robust effort to enhance cooperation between Vietnam and the UK, bridging gaps in technology, education, and business, and paving the way for a future of shared growth and development.
