More than 100 higher education leaders, academics, and representatives from UK and Vietnamese universities, businesses, and international organisations attended the UK–Viet Nam Higher Education Forum 2025 in London. Co-hosted by the British Council, the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam (MOET), the Embassy of Viet Nam in the UK, and the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS), the forum highlighted the growing partnership between the UK and Viet Nam in advancing higher education, talent development, and global research impact.

Discussions focused on Vietnam’s higher education transformation, strategies for internationalisation, and transnational education (TNE) as a pathway for developing globally competitive graduates. Speakers emphasised the importance of maintaining robust quality assurance frameworks, improving employability outcomes, and fostering long-term institutional partnerships aligned with Viet Nam’s development goals.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the UK-Viet Nam iTechPath programme, launched by the British Council. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of Vietnamese higher education, strengthen research capacity, and foster enduring collaboration in science, technology, and innovation between the two countries.
