Recap: Academic Gathering with VinUniversity at UCL

On the afternoon of April 10th, 2026, an Academic Gathering with VinUniversity was held at University College London (UCL), bringing together Vietnamese scholars, researchers, and academics currently based in the United Kingdom.

With the support of the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Northern Ireland (VIS), this gathering offers opportunities for VinUniversity to connect with more than 40 Vietnamese scholars, researchers, and academics in the UK; exchange ideas on research directions and academic collaboration; introduce faculty recruitment and visiting scholar opportunities; and explore ways to contribute to the development of higher education and research in Vietnam.

The event provided a valuable platform for meaningful academic exchange among participants, VinUniversity’s leadership, and senior faculty. Discussions focused on emerging research directions, interdisciplinary collaboration, and shared aspirations to strengthen Vietnam’s presence in the global academic landscape.

Participants also gained insights into VinUniversity’s strategic vision and its commitment to building a world-class academic environment. Key initiatives aimed at attracting and developing global academic talent, including LEADER 10, FACULTY 200, Visiting Scholar 100, and the VinUniversity Assistant Professorships, were introduced and received strong interest from attendees.

The gathering further highlighted VinUniversity’s priority research areas across Engineering & Computer Science, Health Sciences, Business & Management, and Social Sciences & Humanities, encouraging participants to explore potential alignment and future collaboration opportunities.

Beyond academic discussions, the event fostered meaningful connections within the Vietnamese academic community in the UK, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing higher education and research in Vietnam.
