With the support from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and in collaboration with the National Economics University in Hanoi, VIS UK & Ireland is pleased to announce the official launch of the ‘VIS Mentorship and Talent Development Programme‘. The programme aims to support, mentor and train the PhD candidates and early career researchers from Vietnam, who wishes to conduct their PhD/research in the UK/Ireland and overseas. The support will come from the experienced VIS members who are the current academic members of many UK/Ireland universities with a wide range of expertise. The mentorship can be one-to-one, helping the mentees from early stage of application for PhD admission/scholarship, to the support of proposal writing, scientific writing/publication skills. The launch event is designed for:
- Leaders, human resources development managers, postgraduate directors at Vietnamese universities;
- Vietnamese PhD applicants who wish to conduct doctoral studies in the UK or the Republic of Ireland;
- Early career researchers/postdocs who wish to further develop their research career in the UK or the Republic of Ireland;
- VIS UK & Ireland members – potential mentors for the programme;
- Heads of International Offices at Vietnamese, British, Irish universities;
- Representatives of funding agencies, sponsors for international research;
- and the wider public and media contacts who are interested in this initiative.
The hybrid event will take place on 12 August 2022, 14.30-17.00 (Vietnam), 08.30-11.00 (UK) online (Zoom) and onsite at the Hall G, National Economics University, 207 Giai Phong Road, Hanoi.
