On 28th June 2022, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, met with the Vietnamese community at the Vietnamese embassy in London. On the behalf of the Party and State leaders, the chairman conveyed the best wishes and regards to the entire Vietnamese community and the Embassy of Vietnam staff in the UK.
Professor Huan Nguyen (Chair of VIS UK and Ireland) and Dr An Tran (secretary of VIS UK and Ireland) attended the meeting. Professor Huan briefly introduced the society, pointed out the huge potential contributions and commitments from the society to Vietnam. He also suggested that a more direct communication line could be established so that the overseas Vietnamese community and the intellectual society would be able to propose and implement ideas faster as well as to contribute more to the development of Vietnam.
Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue noted the suggestion and promised there will be follow-up action. To mark the occasion, the Chairman presented a plaque of the National Assembly building to the Chair of the society.

The Society also met with Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Le Van Thanh, Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Kim Son to discuss potential activities to promote UK-Vietnam relationship.
