VIS’s members have participated the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vietnamese aboard

On 31 October 2021, Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh held an intimate meeting with hundreds of Vietnamese representing approximately 100.000 people living, working, and studying in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Representatives of the Vietnamese intellectual community, five members of VIS have attended the meeting: Dr. Anh Phan (NewCastle University), Prof. Huan Nguyen (University of Middlesex), Assoc. Prof. Phi-Anh Phan (University of Oxford), Dr. Son Chu (University of Glasgow), and Dr. Dang Bao An Tran (University of Oxford).

Prof. Nguyen Xuan Huan – an expert in digital transformation technology – representing VIS UK & Ireland, said: the Prime Minister proposed to have a mechanism or create useful information channels to connect local and foreign scientists towards effective coordination to implement large projects such as building a smart city, rather than building a smart city. don’t just stop at a few small projects in the past”. Prof. Huan also said that “We are always watching the country and want to bring back what we have learned in the UK to contribute to our country”.
